ICTs, knowledge, networks and complexity

One of the main applications of the field of social disciplines in the paradigm of social science is the interpretation of social entities as complex systems. This interpretation, which breaks with traditional scientific approaches, states that social entities develop their own characteristics that are not equal to the sum of its parts. Therefore, no organized social entity develops just by summing all its parts.

This research area sets out to:

  • (13) Develop a conceptual framework which from the complex paradigm, helps us to better understand economic theory and the network society;
  • (14) Analyse how internal and external complex network development and information, communication and knowledge flow explain the outcomes of organized entities.
