Alicia Aguilar-Martínez

PhD in Biology from the University of Barcelona and Master’s Degree in Dietetics and Human Nutrition at the University of Cádiz.

She began her research in the field of biotechnology and food microbiology at the University of Barcelona and then more specifically devoted to the field of nutrition and health. During those years she combined teaching activities with business career in the food sector. She is currently lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) where directs the Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Health.

Her research is related to the processes of educational innovation in health, social networks for the exchange of knowledge and the study of nutrition from health and social perspective. She is a member of the research group eHealthLab of the eLearnCenter (UOC), the Forum Català d’Informació i Salut (Forum CIS) and International Commission on the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition (ICAF).
