On 14 May 2012 i2TIc researcher Ismael Peña imparted the seminar Why the Information Society made a good bunch of Law obsolete at the Magister Lvcentinvs on Intellectual Property at the University of Alicante, Spain, kindly invited by Aurelio López-Tarruella, expert and professor on Intellectual Property.

The seminar was split in three parts:

Joan Torrent-Sellens, lecturer at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC, Open University of Catalonia), and director of the Interdisciplinary research group on ICT i2TIC, along with nine young economists, have received the specialist journal on applied economics the Revista Econòmica de Catalunya’s Joan Sardà Dexeus Prize for their book La indústria catalana després de la crisi. The journal is published by the Catalan Association of Economists (Col·legi d’Economistes).

This is a collective work that is located in a context of crisis and a period of low economic growth, which analyse the impact of this crisis in ten factors that affect business and, consequently, our ability to continue being an industrial power.

Through ten chapters, which have the industry and the crisis as a theme, a generation of economists born after the seventies, contribute their knowledge, analysis and reflections along with their proposals to some aspects necessarily be taken into account in the early future.

The award Joan Sardà Dexeus takes place since 1996 to recognize the most important book of the year on business and economics. The award recalls the figure of Joan Sardà Dexeus prestigious economist who is considered the main inspirer of the National Economic Stabilization Plan of 1959.
